WHAT MAKES CLINICAL MASSAGE THERAPY DIFFERENT?
Massage with us is more than just relaxation, its relief from chronic pain caused by every day work and family life. Find out what the benefits are of medical and therapeutic massage at Massage Therapy Center of Sylvania, and what it can treat.
WHAT IS CLINICAL OR MEDICAL MASSAGE THERAPY?
When you think of getting a massage, what often comes to mind is a relaxing spa setting where the therapist gently rubs calming scented oils over your body while birds chip and pan flutes do their pan flute thing in the background. All your tension and troubles

just. melt. away.

Doesn't this sound awesome?

While we can certainly help you with a relaxation style massage, pan flute and all, our real talent lies with clinical, or medical therapeutic massage.

Our goal as patient and practitioner is to solve problems together. You have pain or your body does not do the things you want it to, and we have the techniques to help. Sometimes that means knowing when massage will make you worse, or when your physician should step in. We promise to always do what is in your best interest.

Being a medical and therapeutic massage therapist means that we have the training, knowledge, and experience to know that sometimes the problem is located somewhere other than where it hurts. Tight muscles in your mid-back can be causing a domino effect making your knee ache, or your neck is what is making your wrist hurt. As a mechanic of your body, we will use our tools to fix you up and relieve your pain.

Sometimes that means we know to use myofascial release therapy along with trigger point to work out your low-back pain and sciatica, sometimes we choose a little assisted stretching on your hamstrings and cupping on your calves to target your plantar fasciitis pain. Sometimes that means we choose a gentle treatment like lymphatic drainage massage to help with your swelling post-surgery.

And sometimes, we know when to bring in the lavender and pan flutes and just let you
Bliss. Out. And. Relax.
